Over the years humans have produced a lot of CO2 for the usage of our daily lives. CO2 emissions get into our clean air and cause an invisible layer around the earth that keeps the heat inside.
There is more CO2 in the atmosphere today than at any point the last 800 000 years.
We are lucky to live in a country where we have access to clean water through water pipes. Not only bottled water can be up to 500 times as expensive as tap water, but also multiple comparison studies show that tap water’s CO2 footprint is about 1/300 or 1/1000 compared to bottled water.
Traditional cleaning products consist of 5-10% active ingredients and the rest is water. Why add the water at the factory? Water is heavy and takes up a lot of space, which is why many trucks drive around Denmark loaded with water and emit CO2.
Nuuii was founded by the Aarhus sisters Sofie and Line. When we discovered that most cleaning products contain 90-95% water - there was no going back. We were inspired to research cleaning products and its ingredients to develop environmentally-friendly products.
Our main motivation is the next generation - our children. So it was easy to make the decision to start nuuii. We want future generations to live in a world with reduced CO2 emissions.
Even though both of us aren’t educated in chemistry, we started by experimenting in our own kitchen and basement. Now we have a professional laboratory and chemists on the team, where we have fully developed our products!
We want to take care of the environment. We are constantly optimizing our production and distribution processes, making it as sustainable as possible.
Our products meet strict requirements about what cleaning products should contain. The future is in our hands, and we want to be a motivator for other companies to choose sustainable.
We have to make a difference, so our children can live in a safe and happy world. We want to inspire other families and share our enthusiasm!
We want to be transparent in our production. We develop our products in Denmark with local suppliers’ help. We mostly use organic rapeseed oil and salt.
Water is first added at your home which means that we save the transport and reduce CO2 emissions. Nuuii’s products are sold as dry concentrates and we work only with recycled paper packaging. Our tabs are small and light, allowing it to be packed very efficiently.
Our products
